dam najlepsza!
O Rose thou art sick.
The invisible worm,
That flies in the night
In the howling storm:
Has found out thy bed
Of crimson joy:
And his dark secret love
Does thy life destroy.
" Life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced! "

Różo, ty jesteś chora:
Robak niewidoczny,
Niesiony nocą
Przez szkwał mroczny,
Znalazł posłanie w radosnym
Karminie twojego kiera
I ponurą, pokątntą
Miłością życie ci odbiera.
Not only is the rose a gorgeous flower but also it exists as a symbol of love. In The Bible a worm was perceived as a fallus. Worms also symbolize death and deterioration. The bed that the worm sneaks into represents both the regular flowerbed and the lovers’ bed. The illness of the flower represents the attitude to love – it is seen as something bad and revolting. From the poem one could learn that the flower is not able to recognize its sickness and so that the affection does not know that is sick itself. The author perceived the affection and love as something which is depraved.
