Embarrassing moment

 

When I was six years old my family and I went to Warsaw to visit our cousins. Since there are six of us all together (I have two brothers and a sister) we stayed at a hotel. We arrived late in the afternoon. The rooms we stayed in were enormous – I shared mine with Tom, my elder brother. While everybody was unpacking, Tom and I went running along the corridors. When we were on the 12th floor we run into one of the maids. At first she was a bit angry with us but then she told us there was a swimming pool on 11th floor. We were on the 12th! We run to the nearest terrace and tried to look down in search of the pool. Unfortunately I was quite short and could not lean over the balustrade so I stuck my big head through it. And yes, you guessed it. It got stuck. My brother had to run to get some help while I was standing there like an idiot, with my head on the other side. A moment later dad came with some hotel workers and they had to cut the balustrade to let me out. Even nowadays, on every family meeting they all still laugh at it.

Gdy miałem sześć lat pojechałem z rodzina do Warszawy odwiedzić kuzynostwo. Ponieważ jest nas w sumie sześcioro (mam dwóch braci i siostrę) zatrzymaliśmy się w hotelu. Przyjechaliśmy późnym popołudniem. Pokoje w których się zatrzymaliśmy były ogromne – ja dzieliłem swój z Tomkiem, moim starszym bratem. Podczas gdy wszyscy się rozpakowywali Tomek i Ja poszliśmy pobiegać po korytarzach. Gdy byliśmy na 12 piętrze wpadliśmy na pokojówkę. Najpierw trochę się na nas rozgniewała, ale potem powiedziała, że na 11 piętrze jest basen. My byliśmy na dwunastym! Pobiegliśmy do najbliższego tarasu wypatrywać basenu poniżej. Niestety byłem dość niski i nie mogłem się wychylić przez balustradę, więc przełożyłem przez nią moją dużą głowę. I tak, zgadliście. Utknęła. Mój brat musiał pobiec po pomoc podczas gdy ja stałem tam jak idiota, z głową po drugiej stronie. Chwilę później przyszedł tata z pracownikami hotelu, którzy musieli przeciąć balustradę aby mnie uwolnić. Nawet dziś, podczas spotkań rodzinnych wszyscy się z tego śmieją.
