Hello. Today I want to tell you about Christmas in Poland.
Poland as a country has got many different traditions also when it's about Christmas.
First of all I would like to tell you about our dishes.
There is twelve dishes that are specific for polish people for christmas.
There are:
Christmas ravioli,
Cabbage with peas
Cabbage with mushrooms
Carp
Noodles with poopy seeds
Compote with fruits
Chops with rice
Kutia (nie mam pojecia co to jest ale jest na liście)
Pies(nie nie pies jako zwierze ;p) with mushrooms
Dumplings with cabbage.
Herring and finaly
Almound soup.
The history of them isn't long they came from the number of the apostels.Long time ago the apostolic church said that we shouldn't eat mat at Christmas time but later they allowed us for it.
Polish people often sings Christmas Carols. The author of first Christmas Carol in the fifveteen century was St. Francis.Two centuris later in the words of Christmas Carols, focusing on the birth of the Savior began to appear folk elements. This is how the pastorals were created. Now we have about 500 of them. We have lots of other celebrations.
In Poland we also have other celebrations like Easter, Mother's Day, Vather'd day, Valentines day, International Woman's day, and very important INDEPENDENCE DAY, which is very important for Polish people and everyone in my counrty celebrate it.
