1. 2x + 3y - 4x -5y
2. 9x² + 7x³ - 8x² - 5x²
3. 7a (1+b) - 3b (1+a)

1. 2x + 3y - 4x -5y = 2x-4x + 3y -5y
                            = -2x - 2y

2. 9x² + 7x³ - 8x² - 5x² = 7x³ + 9x² - 8x² - 5x² 
                                 = 7x³ - 4x²

3. 7a (1+b) - 3b (1+a) = 7a + 7ab - 3b -3ab
                                = 7ab-3ab + 7a - 3b
                                = 4ab + 7a - 3b
