Dear Mr Bassett.

I am writing with reference to your advertisement on the town website for summer volunteers at your zoo. I would like to apply for one of the positions.

This summer I would like the opportunity to gain some work experience and to help my local community. Working for our town zoo would nicely combine these two goals.

I am 17 years old and currently in the sixth form of my school. I am studying maths, biology and chemistry and hope to study biology at university.

I am a caring person with a strong love of animals (including my three cats and a dog). In my free time I go horse riding and look after my neighbour's horse when she is away.

I would be happy to come to the zoo for an interview or you can call me at home any time between 5 and 7pm. My number is 404 665 7382.
