A letter to an exchange student
Imagine you're going to school in the US as an exchange student. You want to write a latter to the American student you'll be staying with. Introduce yourself and ask some questions. Think about what you want to say. The notes below can give you some ideas.
In your letter you should say:
- who you are and why you're writing
You can say something about yourself:
- where you come from Poland and what it's like there
- what you're interested in
- what kind of school you go to in Poland and what you like about your school
You can ask things like:
- what the American student is interested in
- what you can do in his/ her town
- when school starts/finishes
- if there's a school dress code
- what clubs or extracurricular activities there are at his/ her school
You can start like this:
Dear...
My name is Julia and I'm writing to you because I'm coming to Hermann as your exchange student.
....
I'm looking forward to meeting you soon.
Best wishes,
Julia
