1. A generation gap is a phenomenon observed in many families. It happens when during the 20 years between two generations, social culture and technology around the world advances too fast, having parents and children "live in a different world". Therefore, children and parents seperated by such "generation gaps" have a hard time getting along with each other.

 

2. I believe this happens because in the 21st century, technology and culture are changing extremely fast. For example, 25 years ago, when my parents were my age, there was no Internet. Because of that, my parents don't understand the concept of social networking, such as Facebook or MySpace.

 

3. In my opinion, children should try to learn more about the world their parents lived in. Likewise, parents should strive to find out more about the world around them today, and understand the pop culture of the 21st century if they want to understand their own children.
