Visiting buckingham palace

1 A trip to London is never complete without a visit to Buckingham Palace. It is the official home of the Queen and a tourist attraction. 50.000 people visit the Palace every year.

Most people visit the Palace around noon so they can watch the Changing of the Guard. It is a very colourful and exciting ceremony where the soldies, who guard the Palace and

5 take care of the Queen, change over.

The Changing of the Guard takes place at 11:30 every day in summer, every other day in winter, and lasts for about 45 minutes. The soldiers wear bright red coats and tall, furry hats. A marching band, which plays traditional military music, accompanies the new guards to their posts.
