Palace of Culture and Science, located in the center of Warsaw, at the Parade Square, with its characteristic lump, is a monument to a bygone era. At the same time is one of the best known and most easily recognized buildings in Warsaw and Poland.
Palace of Culture and Science is the "gift of the Soviet people for the Polish nation," and his idea was the same Joseph Stalin. The palace was built in just three years, was put into service in 1955.
Currently, the Palace is the headquarters of many companies and public institutions, among others.: Cinema, theater, bookstore, university (Collegium Civitas), scientific institutions. On its site is organized numerous exhibitions, and even trade shows. In its interior is one of the largest conference in Poland, located 3,000 people, the so-called Congress Hall and the Museum of Technology and the Youth Palace.

The biggest attraction of the Palace of Culture and Science is located on 30tym floor terrace, which offers a splendid panorama of Warsaw, which is the flagship facility point of most tourist visits to Warsaw.
Around the Palace of Culture and Science is growing much controversy among Polish society. For some, the Palace is a symbol of oppression by the Soviet power, for others it has become an integral symbol of the Holy, permanently inscribed in the architecture.
2 February 2007, the Palace was listed as a monument.
