Either..or..digunakan untuk menggabungkan dua pilihan positif dan pilihannya adalah salah satu dari option yang ada. Contohnya :

3. Either you stay or I leave.

Neither..nor...digunakan untuk menggabungkan dua pilihan yang negatif atau arti bebasnya tidak satupun dari pilihan tersebut. Contohnya :

1. Neither Adam nor Sisca was able to play violin.
2. He is neither rich or famous.
3. I want neither food nor water.

Both ...and.. digunakan untuk menggabungkan dua kalimat yang equal/setara. Contohnya :

1. I can speak both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
2. Both Andra and Nanda went to the violin lesson.
3. Both coffee and tea are good for you.

Not only..but also digunakan untuk menggabungkan dua kalimat untuk memberikan penekanan kepada kalimat kedua. Kalimat kedua diberikan penekanan dikarenakan lebih menarik atau lebih mengejutkan. Contohnya:

1. She is not only beautiful, but also smart.
2. There are problems not only with the computer, but also with the electricity.
3. My sister not only has a good ability in drawing, but also in painting.
