Tentukan akar-akar persamaan kuadrat berikut dengan cara melengkapkan kuadrat.
1. x²+2x=3
2. 2k²+8k-6=0
3. x(x+1)=3(x+1)
4. 21-8x-4x²=0

1. x²+2x+1² = 3+1²
   (x + 1)² = 4
    x + 1  = 2  atau x + 1 = -2
          x = 1   atau      x = -3

2.   2k²+8k-6 = 0
      --------------------- : 2
      k² + 4k - 3 = 0
      k² + 4k = 3
      k² + 4k + 2² = 3 +2²
      (k+2)² = 7
       k+2 = √7  atau  k+2 = - √7
           k = -2+√7          k = -2-√7

3. x(x+1) = 3(x+1)
    x²+x = 3x+3
    x² - 2x = 3
    x² - 2x + 1² = 3+1²
    ( x-1)² = 4
      x-1 = 2   atau  x-1 = -2
         x = 3               x = -1

4. 4x² + 8x =  21
    --------------------- : 4
 
      x² + 2x = 21/2
      x² + 2x + 1² = 21/2 + 1²
      (x+1)² = 23/2
       x+1 = 1/2 √ 23  atau   x+1 = - 1/2 √23
           x = -1 + 1/2 √23          x = -1- 1/2 √23
              = -2+√23 / 2               = -2-√23  / 2
