Should teenagers be allowed to spend their own money on whatever they want? Why? Why not?

In my opinion it depends on how they are brought up. If parents inculcated them some values, they will spend this money advantageously. However if teenager is reckless, it's not worth to give him some money to spend it on whatever he want. It all depends on natures of teenagers. We can't generalize and say that each teenager is profligate, who no-one should trust.
