Biały dom opis (White House description)Home to the President of the United States, the White House is America's most famous residence -- and the only head of state's house that is open to the public. It's been the nation's most recognizable symbol since 1792, when George Washington declared the government would reside in a 10-square-mile territory on the Potomac River -- what is now Washington, D.C.

The sprawling mansion has an impressive six floors, 132 rooms, and 35 bathrooms. Just about anybody can visit the White House with a little advance planning. Starting at the Visitor Center, tour the public rooms and imagine all the presidents and historical figures who have walked its elegant halls. In warmer months, see vibrant tulips, roses, hyacinths, and chrysanthemums blooming in the gardens. The White House also hosts several special events including the annual Easter Egg Roll, held on the South Lawn.
