Why did English become the language of North America? The answer to the question is that it was an accident, not a plan.

Several hundred years ago, people started leaving Europe to find better lives in the New World. When later travellers arrived, they found the Native Americans speaking their own languages and other people speaking different European languages, including Dutch, French, Spanish and English. English slowly become the language that most people use for work, school, and leisure in the United States and Canada.
