In my opinion something that should be read by everyone is Małgorzata Musierowicz's series called Jeźycjada. It's mostly read by girls, but I'm sure boys would find something for themselves too. It's a series of about 15 books about a family living in Poznań. We witness their history starting with Gabriela and following her throughout her life up to the point where her grandchildren appear in the story. We watch the family grow and develop, we can see how each character changes and how their decisions affect the lives of other members of the clan and their friends. The series is full of Latin and Greek sentences, as the head of the family, Ignacy is a bibliophile and a very wise man. This is probably because the author's brother, Stanisław Barańczak, is a poet and a translator. These books are fantastic, they are very warm and it feels as if you were a part of that family.
