Być może to dziwne, ale żyrafy sa bardzo szybkie. nawet ich dzieci moga osiągnąć szybkość 50 km/h. To szybciej, niż srednia predkosc Lance Amstronga w Tour de France, ale wolniej niz szybkość geparda. Gepard moze biegnąć z szybkoscia 80 km/h. na szczęście dla żyraf, geprad nie jest wystarczająco silny by zatakowac je - sa one zbyc ciężkie. W zasadzie tylko lwy sa wystarczająco silne by zaatakować młode i słabe żyrafy.Z powodu ich wielkości, życie żyraf jest lepsze niż życie wielu innych zwierząt zyjacych na sawannie.
