Why are people afraid of darkness? Usually people are afraid of things they don't understand. Plato had a theory about dark. We have three people. One of them goes out from the cave. He meets light. When he returned to the cave people were scared. They didin't understand the idea of light so they kill him. It's sad but true. In medical terms we have the fear of the dark. The fear of the dark is a common fear or phobia among children and adults. Biologist say that the fear of darkness is in our genes. Many years ago the darkness meant the arrival of predators.
Why are people are afraid of darkness? There are many reasons. For me darkness is just a little bit scary.
