I think that a word "success" means to me pretty much the same as it does to many other people. I think that primarily it is the achievement of something desired, planned or attempted. But it's not necessary a win - because even trying to realize something we really want is itself our little triumph. So, I guess there is a wide conception of what success is, and for diffrent people it could mean totally different things.
