Firstly, in some cases, consciousness of the truth may lead to unfortunate results. Because of the fear of taking away a hope, a doctor can refuse to tell his patient about the terminal disease. Knowing the truth, the rest of the patient’s life, would probably be changed in a nightmare.
Secondly, I would like to discuss is that people avoid hurting the feelings or upsetting another person or causing a breach in a relationship. It is said that the truth hurts. Indeed, it can be painful. From time to time men spare the truth just in order to make sure they would not be involved in any conflict and the relationship would be without reservation.
Thirdly, untruth is indisputably connected with crime. There is a group of people who don’t obey the law. Under no circumstances should we accept their attitude, as it bases on naivety of other people. What is more, such criminals have to be punished.
Moreover, one find the truth unpleasant and agonizing, consequently often resort to telling a white lie. A white lie is an untruth or partial truth which has no evil intent. For instance some parents tell white lies to their children about illness, and death to protect them against some of the harsh realities of life.
All in all, whatever the reason is, people should always consider the consequences of their deeds. The result of telling white lies is harmless, but it is sometimes difficult to notice the boundary of accepted behaviour. The more people lie, the more difficult it is for them to admit to the truth.
