the first passenger plane flight was on May 2nd 1952 from London to Johanesburg in South Africa. The distance was 11 000 kilomenters. The flight speed was up to 800kms per hour.  It took 23 hours and 40 minutes to get from one to the other place with 5 stops ( now it takes about 12 hours on the same distance).
