Na początek to, czasu Past Simple używa się odnośnie czynności, które miały miejsce w konkretnym momencie w przeszłości, natomiast wyrażenia "used to" używa się do takich czynności, które się zwykło kiedyś robić, ale już się tego nie robi. 

Przykładowo: "I used to play basketball everyday." - Zwykłam grać (grałam wcześniej, kiedyś) w koszykówkę codziennie (a teraz już tego nie robię).

1) People used to read maps but now they use GPS systems.
2) People didn't use to their cars much but now drive everyday.
3) People update their online profiles now, but they wrote letters.
4) Children play inside now, but in the past they used to play outside.
5) Teachers suggested books but now they give out website addresses.
6) Families used to watch TV together but now they watch it individually.
7) Students use Google now, but they used to look up things in encyclopedias.
8) Parents didn't worry so much but now they give children less freedom.
