Na początek to, czasu Past Simple używa się odnośnie czynności, które miały miejsce w konkretnym momencie w przeszłości, natomiast wyrażenia "used to" używa się do takich czynności, które się zwykło kiedyś robić, ale już się tego nie robi.
Przykładowo: "I used to play basketball everyday." - Zwykłam grać (grałam wcześniej, kiedyś) w koszykówkę codziennie (a teraz już tego nie robię).
