x²-x=7²-7=49-7=42

b)  a²-3a+1=-4²-3*(-4)+1=16+12+1=29

c)  1+x(x+4)=1-11(-11+4)=1+121-44=78

d)  x-2y=1--2*(-1)=1+2=3

e)  2x²-y(x+1)=2*(-2)²-5(-2+1)=8+10-5=13
