Everybody needs a holiday. People become very tired and bored if every day is the same: sleep, eat, work, eat, sleep. On holiday, I have always liked to go into nature because I enjoy fresh air, sunshine, water, trees, and animals. I have never liked to think too much on holiday because I have to think every day at school. When I am on holiday, I want my mind to relax and my body to work. This is why I like to travel to the mountains or the sea.

When I go to the mountains, I can hike every day. I prepare my backpack. In it I put food, water, my mobile phone, a map of the mountains, sunglasses, a hat, binoculars, and mosquito spray. I put on comfortable hiking boots and long pants. I leave the hotel early, before the temperature becomes very hot. On the hiking trail, I can see birds. I have seen many different birds, for example owls and cuckoos. I watch the birds through my binoculars and take pictures with my phone. When I become hungry, I find a nice place to sit down and eat. I have eaten in many beautiful spots, for example, under a tree, by a river, on a cliff, in tall grass. I have even fallen asleep after my meal. When I get too tired, I walk back home. At home I take a warm bath and sleep very well. When I am at the sea, I enjoy water sports. I have already tried water skiing, wind surfing, and sailing. My aunt lives on the Baltic sea and she has taught me to do all this. Sometimes I also catch fish from the sea and then my aunt cooks it for dinner. I have caught codfish a few times.

I enjoy holidays in nature because it is the opposite of my everyday life. Every day, I go to school and I sit inside a building. Then I go home and I sit more inside a building. But when I am on holiday, I like to be active and enjoy the fresh air.
