it was a hot summer's night and everything was.....quiet at 18 Green Lane. The Welsh family was sleeping after a busy week. Their dog, Jakey, was downstairs in the kitchen sleeping on his favourite chair. Jakey slowly began........wake up. His ears were telling him something! He stood up to listen more carefully, Something was cracking. He climbed up onto the table to look through.......window. Fire! A tree at the back of the house........burning!
Jakey ran upstairs as fast as he could. He was shaking as he grabbed Mr Welsh's hand.......his teeth.
"What is it, Jakey?" The dog howled and pulled him down the stairs to the kitchen. "Oh my goodness! What a good dog!" he shouted as he grabbed the.........and called 999. He ran back upstairs to help the family out...............the house quickly.
Twenty minutes....................the fire was out and the familly was sitting around the kitchen table. They all looked.......Jakey. "You saved our lives!" said Mrs Welsh softly as she hugged him. "Here's lovely big breakfast for our hero!" It was certainly a night to remember.
