Nobody expect to see dolphins in a crowded city, even if it's near the sea. There are too many buildings and people nearby, and there's too much pollution. There isn't enough fresh food for them, either, because the water is often too dirty. However, the Australia port of Adelaide is different. About thirty dolphins live in the river. Nobody really knows why they stay, but they are certainly very popular. For a few weeks every winter, the Canadian town of Churchill is home to a thousand polar bears! These enormous, hungry animals are dangerous, so everybody in the town has to be careful. The bears come into the coastal town to wait for the sea to freeze. Then they go onto the ice and hunt for seals. These days, climate change is causing a problem. There isn't enough ice, so there aren't enough good hunting places. Perhaps in the future the sea won't freeze at all, and there won't be anywhere for the bears to go.
