We are doing this more and more, until it joins the others. The victim is helpless and can not cope with it. This is often due to depression or even suicide as a last resort.
Of course, as every thing has its pros and cons. For some, the Internet is the only way to communicate. More and more often we hear about marriages that go abroad. Messaging is the only chance for them to communicate with family because the phone calls are very expensive and usually free instant messaging.
There are also cases in which people know the internet are chosen and preferred his life. Normally, they meet and then get engaged and become friends for life.
Internet is also for some of the only window to the world. These are sick people who can not leave the house. So they can find out what is going on in the world, chat with friends and do some shopping.
