Despejando "y" de la ecuación (1):
y = (1 - 3x)/6

Sustituyendo el valor de "y" que encontramos:
2x + 7y = 4
2x + 7[ (1 -3x)/6 ] = 4
2x + 7/6 -21x/6 = 4
2x - 21x/6 = 4 - 7/6
-3x/2 = 17/6
-3x = 17*2/6
-3x = 17/3
x = -17/9

Entonces, como x = -17/9
y = (1 - 3x)/6
y = (1 - 3(-17/9) )/ 6
y = (20/3)/6
y = 10/9

Así, x= -17/9, y= 10/9
