S.O.S Dla Świata
Last Sunday, i watched TV programme "S.O.S dla świata". It's documentary made by WWF. It's an international ecologic organization. The organization directed this programme to remind people how important it is to protect the envinronment.
The first episode was about illegal trade of animals. Patrcicia Kazadi and Michał Piróg were the contestants of this episode. They visited Indonesia to look at the endangered animals which are sold on bazaars. The animals are kept in horrible conditions. They are killed to eat or to do something with their leather or their body. People also use animals organs or another parts of the bodies to eat or drink it. They think that it has positive effects. To catch these animals hunters have to use traps, which are brutal, because animals catched into them suffer for even four days.
The second episode was about illegal cutting down the trees in the tropical forests, for example on the island Borneo. Anna Dereszowska and Pascal Brodnicki took a part in the second episode of the programme. During last fifty years the area of the tropical forests decreased by half. The animals which were lliving there, are endangered now, for example orangutans. There is a center on Borneo, where orangutans live after cutting down the area, where they were living. The woodcutters cut down illegally the trees on Borneo. One woodcutter can cut down even fifty trees every day. When the local police comes they give them some money, so they leaves them alone. The effect is reducing the amount of the Oxygen in the air and devastating the area where orangutans live. Anna Dereszowska and Pascal Brodnicki grubbed 100 m2 and they planted some trees there. WWF on Borne planted more than 30 000 trees on the areas where the trees were cutted down.
Generally i whink that we can help the envinronment. For example we can check which animals are endangered before the trip, buy only products made of plastic leather, print on both sides of the paper or check the certificate of sold wood.
