Young people need a balanced diet with different sorts of healthy food. For example, they need carbohydrates from bread, pasta and rice for energy. Fruit and vegetables are imporant too they contain vitamins and minerals and these keep you healthy. Protein makes you strong and you get it from things like meat, fish and eggs. Dairy fat - for example, milk and cheese - is good because it makes your teeth strong. But remember - too much fat is very unhealthy so fast food is bad for you - and it contains a lot of sugar which is also unhealthy
