Australia is a big empaty country and getting to school is not always easy. That's why the Alice Springh School of the Air opened in 1951. It allowed pupilsm to learn from home by using two-way radios. Since 1995 the pupils have been able to use the Internet to study.

There are about 100 pupils aged between four and twelve. They meet four times a year in real classroom. The rest of the year they are on their own. Word documents are their whiteboard Powerpoint is used for school project and they hand in homework by sending an email. There are no uniforms of course and playing truand is easy. Just Switch off the computer and, the next day, tell your techaer that the Internet failed

Australia to wielki i pusty kraj, w którym nie zawsze jest łatwo dotrzeć do szkoły. Dlatego właśnie w 1951 roku otwarto szkołę "Alice Springh School of the Air", która pozwoliła uczniom na naukę z domu używając dwukierunkowej transmisji radiowej. Od 1995 roku uczniowie mogą korzystać z Internetu by się uczyć.

W szkole uczy się około 100 uczniów w wieku od czterech do dwunastu lat. Cztery razy do roku spotykają się oni w prawdziwej klasie. Przez resztę roku są zdani na siebie. Dokumenty Worda to ich tablice, Powerpoint jest wykorzystywany w szkolnych projektach, a prace domowe dostarczają przez wysyłanie poczty elektronicznej (e-maili). Oczywiście nie ma mundurków szkolnych, a pójście na wagary to prosta sprawa. Po prostu wyłącz komputer, a następnego dnia powiedz swojemu nauczycielowi że Internet zawiódł.
