Non-renewable energy comes from resources that are under the ground . It cannot be replaced - once it is used , it is gone . This type of energy comes from fossil fuels , eg coal , oil and natural gas. Coal takes millions of years to form .It is made from the remains of plants that lived hundreds of millions of years ago . Oil and natural gas are made from the remains of sea creatures . Over time the remains become buried under mud and sediment . The sediment builds up , and the pressure and temperature increase . This transforms the remains , over million of years , into the fossil fuels of today . The energy in fossil fuels comes from the sun . Plants use sunlight to produce energy , and animals eat plants , absorbing this energy . Burning fossil fuels releases the energy stored in the fossilised remains of plants and animals.
Nieodnawialne źródło energi pozyskuje się z zasobów, które wystepują pod ziemia. Nie mogą byc zastapiąne - raz użyte, znikaja na zawsze. Ten typ energi pochodzi z skamieniałych paliw, np. węgiel, olej i naturalny gaz. Potrzeba milionów lat by wykształcił się wegiel. Tworzył on sie z resztek roślin, które zyły miliony lat temu. Olej i gaz tworzył się z resztek wodnych stworzeń. Przez lata resztki te były zagrzebane pod warstwą błota i osadów. Osady narastały, przez co ciśnienie i temperatura ciągle rosły. To zmieniło resztki, przez miliony lat w skaminiałe paliwa. Rośliny używają promieni słonecznych do produkcji energii, natomiast zwierzęta zjadają rośliny wchłaniając tą energie. Palenie skaminiałych paliw prowadzi do uwolnienia energi zgromadzonej w skamieniałych resztkach roślin i zwierząt.
