William Shakespere (1564-1614) was one of Britain's greatest writers.He wrote nearly forty plays and many sonnets and other poems . As a young man , he went to London and joined an actors' company , where he aceted and wrote plays .Eventually, he became the manager of the company .

The first Globe Theatre , where Shakespeare's company preformed, was bulid in 1599 in London nerar the River Thames .Unfortunatley, it was destoyed in a fire in 1613.

The second Globe theatre , completes in 1996, is near the site of the old one. The buliders used the original materials and techniques. There is room for 1,500 people,including 500 standing. The audience takes part in the play as they did in the 1590s-shouting and warning the actors of possible danger.Watching Hamlet,Macbetthor Romeo and Juliet at the Globe is great fun and truly interactive experirnce .
