1. Czas Past Continuous używa się w czynności rozciągniętej w czasie, w przeszłości. Np. Ja GRAŁAM w piłkę. Jest to także czynność niedokonana.

2. W zdaniu A użyto czasu Past Continuous, ponieważ ona PŁAKAŁA i ne wiadomo czy skończyła płakać. W zdaniu B użyto czasy Past Simple, bo ona ZAPŁAKAŁA i skończyła tą czynność.

3. Ann went to the cinema. When she get on the bus, she met her friend. They watched scary film. When they were walking downstairs, Ann fell and broke her arm.
