In general, homework is considered to be an every student’s nightmare. According to Marta Olszewska, a student at the Faculty of Mathematic at the University of Bialystok, homework does not help improve knowledge for students who are average learners. In her opinion, homework may benefit only some students — particularly high and low-achieving students, but they are a minority. Marta stated that the teachers definitely give too much homework , which is usually incomprehensible for students. It causes that the students are more confused and discouraged to homework. It also leads to undesirable situations, when a hardworking student does all exercises and the rest copy the classmate's homework. That is a reason why grading homework is unjust and very often distressing. Marta O. also suggested that the teachers should not evaluate students’ homework by giving grades, because you never know how homework was really done. Marta Olszewska advised that classes could be better served by using other methods to improve student achievement with a more effective tool for improvement. Ill-considered homework is a burden and the students only waste their precious time.

Ktos kto jest zaawansowany z gramy , prosze niechaj pomoże !! Three bad luck superstitions in Poland It is said that breaking the mirror may bring you seven years bad luck. This superstition has its origin in Roman times. Before the invention of the mirror, people gazed at the reflection of their ‘other selves’ in ponds or lakes. By breaking the mirror you distort this image and therefore trigger off fateful disasters happening within the following years. You may avoid this fate by digging in the crashed parts of the broken mirror. Ancient Egyptians bestowed cats. In the middle ages Christian religion was spreading in many countries, also in Poland. Then pagans who still were showing reverence for the cats, became accused of contact with evil. That is why people believe that the black cat brings bad luck. When you see it crossing the road, it means that this day or following days will bring you bad luck. If you want to avoid this you have to spit over your left shoulder three times. The superstition “Do not go under the ladder” is really frightening. There are three possible explanations why we should dodge going under the ladder. In the past, people believed that on the top of humans’ head leaves a guardian spirit. He was really nervous when something was disturbing him. The ladder could hit him. It was also believed that there was a magic triangle between the ladder, ground and the wall. When we get across we could disrupt harmony. The third explanation is that the triangle is a symbol of the Holy Trinity and going through it may mean opposition to God.
