In the past, people believed that on the top of humans’ head leaves a guardian spirit. He was really nervous when something was disturbing him. The ladder could hit him. It was also believed that there was a magic triangle between the ladder, ground and the wall. When we get across we could disrupt harmony. The third explanation is that the triangle is a symbol of the Holy Trinity and going through it may mean opposition to God.
