Welcome to the Ayers Rock Hotel! To switch on the light in your room, insert your card in the slot next to the door. To use the phone, just lift the receiver and push 0 to talk to the receptionist. Do you want to visit the rock? It’s not far, it takes 15 minutes by car, or you can go by bus from the bus stop opposite the hotel. You can walk around the rock – it takes about one hour on foot, or you can ride around it on a motorbike! You can climb the rock in good weather, but you mustn’t climb when the rock is wet: it’s dangerous. And remember: it is a sacred place for the Aboriginal people. You must be careful of their culture.
