W mowie zależnej powinnaś zmienić czas w zdaniu, które cytujesz. Prześlę Ci w załączniku wytłumaczenie. To nie jest trudne. Spróbuj jeszcze raz z tabelką i pamiętaj o zmianie podmiotów czyli osób.

Last year I was doing shopping in a mall. There weren't many people there. One teenager about 11 or 12 years old was carrying some clothes without hangers and a pair of shoes. He was short and had fair hair. I couldn't see a parent with him. The kid tried to run out of the store. I did nothing because just then a security guard noticed him and blocked the door. He stopped the kid and took him. I didn't see the boy again. I was really surprised because I had never witnessed shoplifting before. 
What about meeting during the school holidays? I'm going to Warsaw at the end of August. Can we meet? Please let me know if you are in Warsaw then.
