I lost my phone somewhere on the beach. We were spending our summer holidays at the seaside. Everything was fine until I found out that my smartphone was not in my handbag. I was looking for it for a few hours, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. We got back to the guesthouse and I was simply crying for the whole night. My brother was laughing at me, but he’s only five and has no idea what being online means to me. My mother repeated all the time: “Emma, there are more important things than surfing the net. Enjoy your school break”. I couldn’t do anything about that. First three days were awful. I was thinking about my friends sending messages and photos to me and getting no answer. My social media account was never empty, I posted a few words there at least five times a day. And now? Silence. Nothing at all. “What is Lisa doing now?” – I thought. She was my best friend and she was spending her weekend in London then. I didn’t have any news from her. It was a complete disaster. On the fourth day I met a girl from my town. Her name was Sandra. She was four years older than me, so we probably met at school, but I didn’t remember her. She didn’t have her phone either, because her parents never let her take it when they are on holidays. We were wandering around the streets, sunbathing and having fun together. I liked her a lot and I was happy I had a new friend. I survived two weeks without my smartphone. And you know what? It was the best time in my life! Sandra thinks so, too. 1. Emma lost her phone in the park. ______ 2. She was looking for her smartphone for a few days. ______ 3. Emma’s brother is younger than her. ______ 4. Emma met a girl who lost her phone, too. ______ 5. Sandra and Emma became friends. ______
