Known for his honesty, Lincoln is famous for winning the Civil War and ending slavery. 1_______________________________________ Lincoln was born on February 12th, 1.809 in Hardin County, Kentucky. His family did not have a lot of money, so he had to work on his father’s farm. As a result, he did not have time for school. Always trying to better himself, he taught himself law and became a lawyer. Lincoln managed to save the American Union and the war ended four years later. Also, during this time, he passed a law which led to the Thirteenth Amendment. This finally gave slaves their freedom.
