Hi. Today’s show is about storytelling, and I’m with Naomi Green.Naomi teaches storytelling, and she’s also written a book about it. What got you interested in storytelling?Well, like all young children I loved listening to stories, at home and at school. But it was when I was touring around Morroco with a friend that I heard this wonderful storyteller –that’s when I realised the magic of storytelling. So, when I came back I started doing some myself, at festivals. Why are some people great storytellers?Erm … at first, I thought that some people were just naturally good at storytelling. Then I did a course, and I realised that there are lots of things you can learn. But above all, it comes down to spending time going over and over the stories, until you’re ready to tell them. How should you choose a good story to tell? You know, above all you have to enjoy the story because you won’t tell it well if you don’t!Some people get worried about details, like ‘Is the ending exciting or original enough?’or ‘Will my audience understand it?’ But these things are all much less important.I see. So, once you’ve chosen a story to tell, how should you prepare?Well, of course you have to learn all the details of the story.People often ask ‘should I take out the dull parts or make it more modern?’But I think the audience will be interested if you’re interested, so you need to really feel the story yourself –almost believe it’s about you. Then you’ll tell it well. And what about while you’re telling the story? What’s important then?Well, some storytellers are good at changing their voice for the different characters in the story, and if you can do this, it’s great.Above all, you need to connect with your audience: look them in the eye, so they’re really listening to you. It’s not complicated. You don’t need to be an actor, and you certainly don’t need to move your arms around madly. And finally, what’s the best way to end your story? The big mistake storytellers make is to think they have to explain the meaning of their story. Don’t do that!Of course, you don’t want to leave your audience feeling confused and guessing how the story ends, but just tell it, and let your audience take their own meaning from it.Thanks for talking to us, Naomi.Naomi first became interested in storytellingA when she was at school.B when she was at a festival.C when she was travelling.2What is the main thing that makes someone a great storyteller?A their natural abilityB plenty of practiceC good training3.According to Naomi, you should always choose a story thatA you really like.B has a good ending.C is suitable for your audience.4When preparing to tell a story, Naomi says you shouldA take out parts that your audience might find boring.B change some details to make the story more modern.C make a personal connection to the story. What is the most important thing to do while you are telling a story?A Use a range of different voices.B Make eye contact with your listeners.C Move your arms and hands a lot.6At the end of a story, Naomi says you shouldA make it clear to people what the story means.B encourage your listeners to guess the ending.C allow people to understand the story in their own way.porfa ayudenme tengo 1 hora para terminar porfa arriba les deje la lectura el que me pase las 6 respuestas le doy la coronita
