In depending on knowledge and skills of user, he can choose kind of linux which will be the best for him. For example he can choose Linux Mint, it is a version with traditional desktop and taskbars. The most important sentence for it is: evolution over revolution. Next. Ubuntu is very popular distribution. Often it is first choice of users which start own adventure with linux. It has a modern and slick desktop. Next. Debian is for people with experience in Linux. It can be like lego, because user can choose and build something from the ground up. Next. Megeia was originally a fork of the Mandriva cedebase. It is for this same users as Ubuntu and Mint. Next. Fedora is not good choice for beginning users. This distribution give attention for new things. Next. OpensSuse is alternative to Mint, Ubuntu, Megeia. Is stable and easy to set and use. It can disapper in future. Next. PcLinuxOS is for new users of linux. It has a great support and monthly magazine. If you install it you will never have to upgrade. Next. Manjaro is not necessairly for average computer user. It based on Arch. Has become quite popular. Next. Arch is for advanced ussers. Support is limited, often finding the answers requires reading the documantations. Next. Puppy is designed to run from USB. It is very simple and good solution for people who do not want install Linux on hard drive. The second article was about defferences between windows and linux. To advantages of linux is easily available, a lot of distribution is for free, has not high expectations. Linux is more secure and stable. Windows is commonly used in office, school. More aplications is dedicated to run in windows operating system. It is comercial product. Linux is create by hobbyists.
