Sprawdzi ktoś czy jest to dobrze napisane? Today, I would like to show you some facts about Australia. Before we start –I ask you of what Australia is known?? It is the 6th largest country in the world with population over 24 million. There are 7 states: Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. Unfortunately, the weather isn’t friendly. In the center it’s very hot and dry so most of the people live on the east coast. Mount Kościuszko is the highest mountain. If you go to Australia, you must see beautiful Ayers Rock (Uluru) and wait for the sunset when it changes colour. Australia has odd animals just like Tasmanian devil, emu, snakes and scorpions. Of course there is a cute koala, dingo, eucalyptus and the Great Barrier Reef which is the biggest coral reef in the world. It is a constitutional monarchy with Queen Elizabeth II but she is represented by Governor-General - Sir Peter Cosgrove. For about 50,000 years before the British settlement in the 18th century Australia was inhabited by Aboriginal People. It was discovered by James Cook in 1770. The Great Britain sent prisoners and criminals to Australia. Europeans sold the land of Aborigines and killed thousands of them. Over 200 different languages and dialects are spoken. It is one of the best countries in quality of life, health, education, economic freedom, and the protection of civil liberties and political rights. Canberra was selected as the capital because Sydney and Melbourne could not stop arguing which city should be the capital of Australia. It’s a very interesting country because of the summer sports. People who live near the ocean often go surfing at the weekend. The Formula One grand prix at Melbourne is a huge spectator event. There is also a big tennis tournament – Australian Open. What’s more, Australia has hosted the Summer Olympics twice – in Melbourne and in Sydney.
