Everyone loves Chrismas . It is the most favourite holiday of the year. This is a wonderful time for everybody. For Poles Christmas Eve is a magic night when animals talk and people forget all their problems and enjoy being together.

On the 24th of December, there is a Christmas Eve, an exceptional supper with the whole family. The supper consists of twelve dishes, for example: borsch with ravioli, jellied carp and pierogi, etc.

There is always a free place for an unexpected guest. Under the table there is a hay.

Polish family begin the Eve when the first star appears in the sky. Then somebody reads the Holy Bible about Jesus birth. After that family break of the Opłatek and offer wishes to each other.

After supper the family unwrap presents which lie under the Christmas tree and sing carols. There is also a Midnight Mass at churches.
