'The Hunger Games' is a film directed by Gary Ross from 2012 and based on the first in a set of three fantasy books by Suzanne Collins. The story takes place in a nation known as Panem in a distant post-apocalyptic future. The main role of 16-year old Katniss Everdeen is played by Jennifer Lawrence. 'The Hunger Games' are translated into Polish as 'Igrzyska śmierci' I think it's better than the literal translation.
Every year the Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. It's a nationally televised event in which 'Tributes', so called chosen ones, must fight with each other unti one survivor remains.
This film has very intense plot filled with romance and adventure. The script is well-written and the action is fast- it is certainly not a film you can get bored in! Actiong is absolutely brilliant, actors facial expressions are like they real fight for survival. This film has completly spectacular special effects and unexpected ending. The only downside of 'The Hunger Games' is not keeping in suspense music. I recommend that film to anyone who haven't seen yet. It's totally worth seeing, if you want to watch the film with an gripping story.
