Christmas is very important holyday, which begining advent.
During advent we prepare our homes to Christmas. We bake gingerbread and make christmas decorations. On 24th of December we decorated christmas trees. This day we have traditional supper with 12 dishes (as the symbol of twalve apostoles) without meat. We also sing carols. In some places an empty place setting is symbolically left at the table for a wanderer, who may be in need. One treadition unique to Poland is the sharing of the "opłatek", a thin wafer with holy picture, which people shared with members of family and neighbours. After supper we give presents each other.
