El borrego cimarrón macho es ligeramente más grande que la hembra; mide entre 180 y 100 centímetros de longitud de la nariz a la cola y pesa de 58 a 143 kilogramos, mientras que la hembra mide de 140 a 170 centímetros de largo y pesa entre 38 y 85 kilos.

Sus cuernos son curvos, pesan 14 kilogramos y llegan a medir hasta 1 metro de longitud en el macho. La hembra también tiene cuernos pero los suyos son mucho más pequeños y menos curvados. El borrego cimarrón se distribuye en las Montañas Rocosas de Canadá, en el sur de Estados Unidos y en el norte de México. Habita acantilados, riscos escarpados, prados alpinos y laderas cubiertas de hierba. Como no puede caminar sobre gruesas capas de nieve, necesita laderas secas en las cuales la nieve es inferior a 60 centímetros anuales.
COMPORTAMIENTO DEL BORREGO CIMARRÓN
Este animal es diurno y gregario y se reúne en grupos de más de 100 individuos, aunque también puede formar grupos más pequeños, de 8-10 borregos. A pesar de lo anterior, los machos y las hembras viven separados y sólo se reúnen para aparearse. Las hembras jóvenes se quedan en el grupo de su madre pero los machos cambian de grupo cuando cumplen 2 o 4 años de edad.xperimenta movimientos estacionales. Su sistema de apareamiento es polígamo. Un dato curioso: se ha observado que demuestra actividades “homosexuales”. El macho dominante se acerca a un individuo y comienza a cortejarlo, mientras el subordinado hace el papel de la hembra en celo.
Entre otoño y principios de invierno, el borrego entra en celo y los machos participan en batallas cuerpo a cuerpo por la oportunidad de aparearse con una hembra; estas luchas pueden durar hasta 25.5 horas. Ambos machos se empujan, se alejan y luego se encabritan sobre sus patas traseras para volver a arremeter fuertemente con los cuernos. Sólo los borregos más fuertes y de mayores cuernos pueden aparearse, dado que son los que ganan las luchas.
La hembra acepta a varios borregos mientras está en celo. Unos 6 meses después nacen 1 o 2 crías que son destetadas entre los 4 y los 6 meses de edad, después de lo cual se integran a la manada de la madre.
AMENAZAS DEL BORREGO CIMARRÓN
Desde fines del siglo XIX, la situación del borrego cimarrón ha sido delicada, por decirlo así. La caza excesiva y las enfermedades transmitidas por los animales domésticos ocasionaron que su población mermara considerablemente. Pese a ello, la población se incrementó y hoy en día ya no se encuentra en peligro de extinción (Preocupación Menor, de acuerdo con la Lista Roja de la Unión Internacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza), con excepción del borrego cimarrón de California, pues la Lista Federal de los Estados Unidos advierte que se encuentra “Endangered”, es decir, en vías de extinguirse.

El águila real o también llamada águila caudal, es una especie de ave de presa que habita en el hemisferio norte de la tierra y tiene una amplia distribución, más que cualquier otra especie de águila. Existen seis subespecies conocidas y todas varían ligeramente en tamaño y en coloración.
