I would like to sincerely apologise for my inability to keep my promise, because I cannot stay longer at work next weekend. My grandfather has fallen ill and his son with whom he is living is currently out of country and is unable to take care of him. I am the only relative who lives close enough to my grandfather's house. In this situation I am my family's only option and I would be very grateful if you would forgive me my absence this weekend. I promise once again to make it up to you another weekend or any convenient time.
