Some say that there  is a solid boundary which should not be overstepped. I agree with this statement but - being absolutely honest - to a certain degree. From the scientific point of view, we should take into account that overstepping some boundaries is sometimes advisable or even necessary to make progress. To prove it, it is enough to take a quick look at these innovations which have been discovered unintentionally, just because. What is more, that kind of actions require much more effort and, what is maybe even more important, bravery and courage.
If people were in stagnation all the time, there would not be any interesting inventions which basically means that we would not reach the advancement that we have nowadays.
There are of course people who do not agree with me. Some of them would say it is superfluous to dig too deep. For others it is the only way to discover something exciting. It is just the matter of choice, nothing more, nothing less.
To conclude, it is sufficient to say which side I support. I think that the more curious you are, the better it is for the future. The deeper you dig, the more profits you can gain.
