Dear Sir/Madam,
I have recently read your popular science magazine. There was one article entitled "Crime and teenagers" and was published on November 28, 2012. The author of this article wrote that most crimes are committed by young people. He gave many examples of such crimes and his solution to this problem was to keep young people indoors after 10 pm. I think this a very ridiculous idea.
Firstly, even if this rule was applied to the society, young people would still go out after 10 pm because it's too strict for active and energetic teenagers. In this way we'd probably have even more crimes from the point of view of the law. I think teenagers would become more aggresive, being kept away from their entertainment by force. Secondly, I don't aggree with the author's statement, that most crimes are committed by young people. It is not a fact, one can check that in any trusworthy source. That may be the author's prejudice - perhaps he dislikes teenagers.
In connection with this, I would like to request that you change that article and instead suggest ways of decreasing the percentage of the crimes committed by teenagers. I would also like to ask you to print my letter in the next magazine, so that other readers can share their opinion.
