Notice adalah salah satu bentuk short functional texts dalam pelajaran bahasa Inggris.

Notice atau pemberitahuan adalah suatu pengumuman singkat yang dapat ditemui di tempat-tempat umum.

Macam-macam notice yaitu:

• command (perintah)
• caution/warning (peringatan)
• information (informasi)
• prohibition (larangan)

Generic structure dari notice:

1. attention bait (optional) bisa berupa kata-kata seperti CAUTION, seperti WARNING, atau gambar
2. information
3. closure (optional)

Unsur kebahasaan notice:

1. menggunakan kalimat imperative (Don't step on the grass! Keep the floor clean!)
2. Menggunakan declarative reference (Wet floor, Road is closed for maintenence)
